Weekly Pastor’s Notes

(Worship, Submit & Connect) – “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matt. 28:19 – (NKJV)

The disciples had seen Jesus crucified and raised from the dead, and they spent forty days with Him.  Their journey completely changed them, and your journey should completely change you.  “When they saw Him, they worshipped Him” (Matt 28:17).  Your spiritual journey should change what is most important in your life.  You can still enjoy the things (that you have obtained) and people (that you encounter), but those things and people should not be your focus in life.

Jesus said in Matt. 28:18, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.”  Christ is the authority, not us and after worship we should submit to Him and pursue His purposes.  And pursuing His purpose means being obedient to His instructions.  And Jesus tells each of us to go and connect with others from every nation, creed and culture.  We are to let the world know the reality of serving the Only True and Living God.

Tell someone today about your own experience with God and how Jesus has changed your life.  Be a witness for the Lord today.

16 So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 

17 And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Pray for the family of our Bro. Elliot Hernandez in the passing of his sister, Ms. Jessica Conde this week.  Continue to pray for the Hill and Johnson families and a memorial service for Sis. Belinda Hill will take place on Sat. May 23rd here at Second Baptist Churc | Pedricktown (SBCP)  

Also, please continue to pray for the Moore family of Pleasantville, who will lay to rest Bro. Richard Moore on this Saturday.

The Missionaries continue to collect toiletries, slightly used and clean coats and clothing to aid victims of recent disasters.  Items can be left in the box or on the table in the lower fellowship hall of the church.

115TH ANNIVERSARY NOTES

There will be a Super Mass Choir singing in the morning of June7th. Any and all persons who have sung on any choir in the church, in the past or present, from the youngest to the oldest, male or female are asked to please participate in this choir. Rehearsal dates will be forthcoming.

For a fundraiser for our 115th Church Anniversary, there are two options which you may contribute to which are optional:

  1. Long-term families of 2nd Baptist going back to the Pastorate of Rev. King David Tunstall can contribute as a family (not household) $115 based on how many households are represented in that family. OR
  2. Anniversary envelopes will be handed out to anyone who wants to contribute to the 115tth Church Anniversary in any amount of your choosing.

History of the Church:

A slide presentation will be shown. If anyone has any old photographs of the church or members, please see any member of the Anniversary Committee so that they may be uploaded for the presentation.

Outreach Ministry is having a Sub Sale Fundraiser. Starts – Sunday, April 19, 2026 
Tickets are $10.00 and the ticket are redeemable @ Roman Pantry, Penns Grove, NJ or Italian Kitchen, Pennsville, NJ
