A Word from the Pastor

The Joy of Relying on God | Psalm 13:5
“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.”

In light of the scripture above, ask yourself, what am I trusting in or leaning on today. Are you feeling fearful or frustrated? Your emotions and thoughts are helpful clues to what you think about God. They provide evidence of a life of faith or a life attempting to get by on its own.

While following Jesus never assures you of smooth sailing, you’re assured of God’s presence based on His Mercy for you. If you are not joyful today and find yourself stuck in despair, it could be that you are trusting in yourself to earn God’s mercy or simply relying on your own resources and wisdom to help yourself.

There is great contentment in trusting God’s mercy and falling back on His help. You don’t lean on God because you’ve earned His help or favor. Rather, you start with His mercy that assures you of His saving help and presence, whether you are going through good times or bad. (Adapted - 3 Min. Devotions, Barbour Publishing)

Praying for family of Nolan Wells family in Mississippi after they laid him to rest last week as well as the family of Shadir Skinner, just over in Wilmington who was killed by the police.

We are asking our church family to support two of our own, Sis. Taylor and Sis. Tatum Hinson, as they continue their servant ministry of helping students prepare for the upcoming school year with the right mindset, confidence, and attitude.

Please see the flyer below to learn how you can help. Together, we can make a difference by providing much-needed school supplies and investing in the future of our children— one supply at a time.

A collection box will be available in the church vestibule to receive donations of the requested school supplies. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

This Sunday July 26th @ 2:00pm Pastor will be preaching at Hopewell Baptist Church in Carneys Point for their annual Men’s Day, Combined Choir requested to minister in song. Fellowship meal will be served at 1:00pm.

Community Resource Fair – Sponsored by 3rd Legislative District Representatives at Salem Community College – Davidow Hall – Providing help with Anchor, Stay NJ and Senior Freeze tax programs as well as Motor Vehicle REAL ID services. Appointments required for MVC services. Free Ice Cream 12 noon to 1pm.
