A Word from the Pastor

What Will You Celebrate | Psalm 118:24
“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

As we enter this holiday season (weekend) of Labor Day, the question given is, what are you celebrating for? Do you celebrate and give God praise only during the calendar holidays? Do you rejoice and delight in The Lord only at times when things are going your way? Do you give God praise when others rejoice and are being blessed?

No matter your answer to any of those questions the psalmist gives us a clear reason why we all should celebrate and rejoice and that is because “this is the day that The Lord has made”. The fact that the Lord has allowed you to experience another day of life, with a reasonable portion of heath and strength is reason enough to rejoice and give God all the praise. The fact that God sent His angels to watch over you and keep you safe through dangers seen and unseen is reason enough to rejoice on this day. The simple fact that God is Good to us is reason enough to rejoice in this day and be glad in it.

Reflect upon the ways that the Lord has blessed you throughout this day and start right now to rejoice in the fact that even if it wasn’t your best day, He has kept you all the way. Continue to trust Him and celebrate every day that He provides. (Adapted - 3 Min. Devotions, Barbour Publishing)

Please continue to pray for the Brokenbaugh family in the passing of Trustee Emeritus Bill Brokenbaugh.

Also continue to pray for the family of Pastor Victor Covington and the members of Union Missionary Baptist Church of Albany NY as they lay Pastor Covington to rest in Albany on Friday.
