A Word from the Pastor

(The Only Way to Defeat Sin) Galatians 5:16 – “I say then: Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

Discipline, intentional action, and accountability are all good things that can help you overcome your sinful desires. You can’t live as a faithful disciple by accident. However, the only way you will consistently overcome sin is by yielding to The Holy Spirit. When you submit your will to the Will of The Spirit you will begin to recognize the power of your carnal desires and your inability to overcome them on your own.

The sin nature inside of every person is at constant war with the Spirit of God that has taken up residence in your body once you have been born again. Although you have been made new and old things have passed away, those old cravings and desires will still attempt to overcome you, and you will need a guide to redirect your desire toward the Presence and Power of God. The only way to overcome sin is to stop fighting it. By yielding your will to God, you’ll have a new craving for His Presence and discover that you are becoming a renewed person. (Adapted - 3 Min.
