A Word from the Pastor

(Proverbs 17:3) (KJV)
“The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the Lord trieth the hearts.”

Fact; No one said that moving from where you are to where you want to be in your walk with God would be easy. As a matter of fact, Jesus said in John 16:33 that “in the world ye shall have tribulation: (Thank God, He did not leave us there) but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” James advises us in James 1:2-4 to rejoice in trials because they produce beneficial traits inside of us. Paul compared our life as believers to a disciplined regiment of athletic preparation to obtain a prize and Solom in Proverbs 17 compares this life to gold in the refiner’s fire.

When you chase after God with all your heart, you live a life that challenges the world and all of its sinful ways. The world hates Christ and all that follow Him and puts all believers into a perpetual spiritual warfare. The enemy will use all his power to deceive you, distract you and deter you from following God. No one ever said that living for God would be easy, just worth it. (Adapted from unknown author)

Please pray for the Carey Family in the passing of Bro. William Arthur Carey, Uncle of the Hill Family.
