Thought for the week: “ There is A Hope“
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)
You may be facing a difficult, tumultuous, confusing time in your life and you just don’t know how you are going to make. Your concern may not even be about tomorrow because the troubles that you face today are so overwhelming. Yet there is some good news that you need to know that will encourage you not to quit, not to give up and not to throw in the towel. The good news for you today is that there is HOPE.
There is a hope because of the gift that God gave to all mankind, (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son; and whosoever believe in Him, Shall Not perish but have Everlasting Life.” The good news for anyone facing trials or tribulations in life is a living hope that has been given to us all through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Jesus took our place and paid a penalty that He did not owe in order that you and I might be set free from captivity of death, hell and the grave.
The Living Hope that Christ provides is a promise that all who would accept His sacrificial gift and confess with their mouth and believe in their heart would experience salvation that only comes from The Lord. So, no matter what you are going through, know today that there is a Living Hope waiting just for you. (Rev. Dr. K.M. Peterson)
This Sunday’s Scripture
Topic:“Is He Lifted Up in You?”
John 12:27-32 (KJV)
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.
28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.
29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes.
31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
